Tree Planting for Earth Month 2023
Join us for a day of volunteering to celebrate Earth month!
The Intervale Center is partnering with the Winooski Valley Park District to expand a previously planted buffer strip along the Winooski River by interplanting an additional 200 trees and shrubs to diversify the new buffer for bird habitat.
This event aims to enhance conservation efforts, build soil, and create safe places for families to recreate in nature.
Meeting Point: Volunteers will meet at Ethan Allan Homestead. We recommend bringing water and wearing closed-toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing.
Wear:
-
Sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots with good traction
-
Long pants and long-sleeved shirts to protect your skin from scratches and insect bites
-
Layers of clothing appropriate for the weather conditions
-
A hat or cap to protect your head and face from the sun
Bring:
-
A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
-
Sunscreen and bug spray
-
Snacks if you're a snack-y person
-
A positive attitude
